چکیده

Carbon nanotubes have been attracting a lot of interest as electron transfer mediators to enhance electrochemical biosensing. The main reason behind this is usually recognized in terms of augmented electrochemical active surface area. The aim of this paper is to review other phenomena that occur at the electrochemical interface. Three distinct features of these phenomena mainly appear in electrochemical biosensing. We introduce the Cottrell, Randle-Sevčick, and Nernst effects to address these features. By using these features, several electrochemical biosensing systems are investigated. Differences among the proposed systems are presented and analyzed in light of these effects. We finally have demonstrated that carbon nanotubes may induce completely opposite effects when dealing with diflectrochemical Sensors

Carbon Nanostructures for Tagging in Electrochemical Biosensing: A Review

Growing demand for developing ultrasensitive electrochemical bioassays has led to the design of numerous signal amplification strategies. In this context, carbon-based nanomaterials have been demonstrated to be excellent tags for greatly amplifying the transduction of recognition events and simplifying the protocols used in electrochemical biosensing. This relevant role is due to the carbon-nan...

Label-free and facile electrochemical biosensing using carbon nanotubes for malondialdehyde detection.

A label-free electrochemical biosensing platform has been developed for the first time using carbon nanotubes for facile detection of malondialdehyde, showing high sensitivity and acceptable selectivity with a low detection limit of 0.047 μmol L(-1) and a linear response ranging from 0.1 to 90 μmol L(-1).

Electrochemical patterning of gold nanoparticles on transparent single-walled carbon nanotube films.

We report a simple, low cost, electrochemical deposition method to pattern gold nanoparticles on flexible, transparent, single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) films, and demonstrate the application of the gold-patterned SWCNT films as surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy substrates and biosensing electrodes for non-enzymatic glucose detection.
